The Umamusume: Pretty Derby game won the Best Mobile Game award at The Game Awards 2025, where it competed against Destiny: Rising, Persona 5: The Phantom X, Sonic Rumble, and Wuthering Waves.

Cygames’ horse girl raising simulator, part of the popular Umamusume franchise that includes anime and manga, was originally released in Japan for iOS and Android in February 2021 and later for PC in March 2021. The game was released in English in June 2025 and is available on iOS, Android, Steam, and Google Play Games.

According to AppMagic, Umamusume: Pretty Derby was the 27th top-grossing mobile game of November 2025 with more than US$20 million in revenue. It also reported that in the last 30 days, 71% of the game’s profits on mobile came from Japan while 21% came from the US. AppFigures (which updates hourly) says that it’s the 28th highest-grossing mobile game in the US at the time of writing.

Umamusume: Pretty Derby is currently the 87th most-played game on Steam, which describes it as such:

— Umamusume. They are born to run. They inherit otherworldly names, and are inspirited by dreams most dramatic and wonderful. Now, they run ever forward. That, is their destiny. No one knows how the races that lie in their futures will end. Even so, they continue to run, aiming only toward the goal in front of them.

— Each and every one of the runners sports a unique charm. It’s up to you, the trainer, to lead them down the path of victory! You have but one goal—raise your Umamusume to her fullest potential and help turn her greatest dreams into reality. In order to reach these newfound heights, it’s your job to participate in—and win—as many races as possible! Triumph awaits those who train hard and work to communicate. Only by cooperating will you take the crown!
