The anime adaptation of Shinobu Kaitani’s Liar Game is set to premiere in April 2026. A teaser trailer and visual featuring its two main characters have been released.
Saya Hitomi will voice the college freshman, Nao Kanzaki, while Takeo Otsuka will voice Shinichi Akiyama, a former genius con artist.
The anime adaptation was first announced in August 2025.
LIAR GAME is a suspense manga that was first serialized in 2005 in Shueisha’s Young Jump magazine. It ran from 2005 to 2014 and has released a total of six manga volumes. It inspired a Japanese live-action TV drama, a Korean live-action TV drama, a live-action film, and a stage play.
It follows a college student named Nao Kanzaki who receives a strange letter and a suitcase filled with 100 million yen. She works together with a former con artist named Shinichi Akiyama as they participate in high-stakes battles called LIAR GAME.
