Yona of the Dawn Anime Gets Sequel

The Yona of the Dawn TV anime will receive a sequel, according to reports from Japanese media sites and Anime News Network. The announcement was apparently made in the second issue of 2026 of the Hana to Yume magazine, which was released on December 19, 2025 in Japan. 

This issue of Hana to Yume also contains the final chapter of the manga, which debuted in the 17th 2009 issue of the Hakusensha magazine.

The TV anime aired from aired from October 2014 to March 2015 with 24 episodes. Kazuhiro Yoneda (Gleipnir, Kageki Shoujo!!Do It Yourself!!) directed the series at Studio Pierrot, with character designs from Maho Yoshikawa (Assassin’s Pride). Crunchyroll describes the synopsis as such:

Currently, Hiryuu Palace has no one else next in line for the throne other than the fifteen year old princess, Yona, who had been raised with care. Finally, the night of her sixteenth birthday arrives. She expects it to be a wonderful day spent with her peace-loving father, Il, her servant and friend Hak, and her cousin Soo-won, who she had feelings for… However… That night, Yona goes to visit her father to tell him how she really feels, because he opposes to her getting married to Soo-won. However, when she gets to her room, she encounters a shocking truth.
