Distributor Abnormal Studios previously announced that it would be bringing the film to Southeast Asian and Australasian locations like Malaysia, Brunei, Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, Singapore, Cambodia, Myanmar, Laos, Australia, and New Zealand in 2026. The movie will begin screening in Japan on January 1, while its Malaysian release date is March 5.

TGV’s synopsis reads:

Shiori is an ordinary high school girl yearning for viral fame on social media. One day after a crack forms on her smartphone, her real-life self is replaced by her digital counterpart, “SHIORI,” who emerges from the smartphone world. Trapped in the smartphone world instead, Shiori is powerless and forced to watch as her counterfeit self energetically rises to stardom as a pop icon and influencer. With the help of Komori, a mysterious rabbit-man she meets in this digital wonderland, Shiori must navigate an eerie and surreal cyber labyrinth to get back to her reality.

Before the fan screening, Kawamori will take part in a panel and a separate meet-and-greet session at the Comic Fiesta ACG event, held at the nearby Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. Kawamori previously attended Anime Festival Asia Singapore 2025.
