The Gakuen Idolmaster mobile game’s YouTube channel, Hatsuboshi Gakuen, has released an animated music video for the song “Wildest Flower.” Its performing character is the Aoi Nagatsuki-voiced Saki Hanami, a competitive former athlete.
Takashi Ohashi (Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury 2nd ending animation director et al.) directed, storyboarded, and composited the colorful music video, which uses track and field for its main visual motif and features an intense spurt of animation near the end.
Yukie Nakauchi contributed the character design and concept art for ‘Wildest Flower.” CALF handled the animation production.
Gakuen Idolmaster was first released in May 2024 for iOS and Android. It is set in the Hatsuboshi Gakuen idol training school and is part of Bandai Namco Entertainment‘s The Idolmaster multimedia franchise.
