Upcoming original TV anime Inherit The Winds has received a trailer and a January 2027 broadcast start date.
It was also announced that it will have a theatrical prescreening this year, and that Nichika Omori is voicing the character Kurosuke. Character visuals for Toshizo Hijikata and Isami Kondo were revealed as well.
Inherit The Winds is set during the third year of the Bunkyu era, a time of unrest in Japan, and follows an amnesiac called Jinsuke Tachikawa, whose reclamation of his memories has large consequences. The story is inspired by the Jinsuke Tachikawa stage play series by Yutaka Narui, who is also credited as the anime’s writer.
Part of the show’s marketing highlights its use of Live2D — an animation technology that can be seen with VTubers and in some modern visual novels — with cell animation techniques.
