A main visual for the upcoming Eiga Chiikawa: Ningyo no Shima no Himitsu (Chiikawa the Movie: Secret of the Mermaid Island) has surfaced, with various characters from the film gathered in it. The movie previously received an extended teaser trailer last month.
Eiga Chiikawa: Ningyo no Shima no Himitsu is based on the original Chiikawa webcomic’s Siren Arc storyline, which was posted on X/Twitter from March 2023 to November 2023. Created by Nagano, the titular character has grown beyond the comic to inspire social media and LINE stamps, goods, and a Doga Kobo-produced short anime, as well as winning the Grand Prix at the Japanese Character Award in 2022, 2024, and 2025. The short anime started in 2022 and has more than 300 episodes.
Eiga Chiikawa: Ningyo no Shima no Himitsu will begin screening in Japan on July 24.
