The Chinese animated fantasy film, The Umbrella Girl (also known as The Umbrella Fairy), is getting a Japanese dub. The film will premiere on June 19 at the Grand Cinema Sunshine Theater in Ikebukuro as well as other theaters nationwide. It was announced on the film’s official Japanese X/Twitter account alongside the film’s main visual and trailer. The film will also have a subtitled version alongside the Japanese dub.

- • Ayane Sakura as Wang Gui
The Umbrella Girl (The Umbrella Fairy) was first released in mainland China in July 2024. It’s based on the Chinese donghua. The Umbrella Fairy Dream Talk by Zuo Xiaoling and Wei Ying. The film was directed by Shen Jie and animated by Gudong Animation Studio. After its release in China, the film was also screened at the 28th Fantasia International Film Festival in Montreal, at the Sitges Film Festival in Spain, and the Film Festival in Japan.
