Two months from now, it will have been 10 years since psychic action anime Mob Psycho 100 began airing back on July 12, 2016. Ahead of its 10th anniversary, the anime has gotten a visual, drawn by character designer Yoshimichi Kameda, and a logo to commemorate the occasion.
There will also be a number of “fan-focused initiatives” on social media before July 12 comes around. So far, Warner Bros. Japan has announced the #MyMobPsycho hashtag campaign, which kicked off on May 12 on the anime’s official X account and will cycle through different themes (currently, the campaign is encouraging fans to share their favorite scenes. ). Some posts “may be featured on official social media channels and reflected in events held in Japan.”
Mob Psycho 100 ended in 2022 with its third season, which had Takahiro Hasui directing while previous director Yuzuru Tachikawa assumed the role of chief director. Crunchyroll’s synopsis for the anime reads:
Kageyama Shigeo, a.k.a. “Mob,” is a boy who has trouble expressing himself, but who happens to be a powerful esper. Mob is determined to live a normal life and keeps his ESP suppressed, but when his emotions surge to a level of 100%, something terrible happens to him! As he’s surrounded by false espers, evil spirits, and mysterious organizations, what will Mob think? What choices will he make? The anime based on the original story by ONE, the idol of the webcomic world and creator of One-Punch Man, is coming your way with animation by leading animation studio Bones!
The anime was produced by BONES (the production division is now a subsidiary called BONES FILM) and had Hiroshi Seko as series composer, Shihoko Nakayama as color designer, Ryo Kono as background art director, Mayuko Furumoto as photography director, and Kenji Kawai as music composer. Setsuo Ito voiced Mob.
Mob Psycho 100 is based on the Shogakukan-published manga by ONE, which debuted in 2012 in Ura Sunday and ended in 2017 in Manga One. Dark Horse Comics released the 16th and final volume in English on May 5, 2026.
