A main visual for the upcoming Magical Girl Lyrical NANOHA EXCEEDS Gun Blaze Vengeance has been released, with multiple characters depicted in various action poses. Taking center stage are the gun-wielding Shiina Kuze and the sword-carrying Towa Yorumi.
Magical Girl Lyrical NANOHA EXCEEDS Gun Blaze Vengeance, the first new anime in the Magical Girl Lyrical NANOHA franchise since 2018’s Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha Detonation movie, is set to make its broadcast debut on July 4 at 25:00 JST (effectively July 5 at 01:00 JST). In the new show’s setting, the EXCEEDS organization handles crises and calamities caused by mysterious invasive creatures that appeared 30 years ago and continue to threaten humanity’s safety. Shiina is a hunter of these creatures who lives with her sister and only family, Setsuna.
The main visual’s reveal was accompanied by the announcement of revival screenings for the first two Magical Girl Lyrical NANOHA movies, as well as an early screening session for Magical Girl Lyrical NANOHA EXCEEDS Gun Blaze Vengeance;s first two episodes on June 21 at Marunouchi Piccadilly 2.
The Magical Girl Lyrical NANOHA franchise is a spin off of the eroge series Triangle Heart. The first anime, a 2004 TV series directed by Akiyuki Shinbo (Monogatari Series and Puella Magi Madoka Magica chief director), saw Nanoha becoming a magical girl to aid a mage in finding the Jewel Seeds.
Magical Girl Lyrical NANOHA EXCEEDS Gun Blaze Vengeance was announced alongside the Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha EXCEEDS manga, which began serialization in April 2025 and starts with the franchise’s eponymous Nanoha Takamichi as a 13-year-old teenager (Nanoha is nine at the start of the franchise and has been depicted at older ages in later titles).
