Dorohedoro Season 2 Gets Striking Animated Music Video for Ending Song “Return to Head”

The Dorohedoro Season 2 ending song “Return to Head” (by (K)NoW_NAME) has been given an animated music video with a striking, high-contrast color palette. Artist team sankaku is credited with the visual direction and editing, while MAPPA has a cooperation credit.

The season debuted on streaming services on April 1, years after the first season premiered in 2020, and will be followed by a recently announced third season. Crunchyroll describes Dorohedoro‘s synopsis as such:

In the lawless district known as Hole, sorcerers from another world use its residents as guinea pigs for their twisted magic. Caiman is one of those victims—left with a lizard head and no memory of his past, he’s now on a brutal quest for answers. To reclaim his true face and forgotten past, he and his partner Nikaido hunt sorcerers, hoping to uncover the truth behind his transformation.

Yuichiro Hayashi (Dorohedoro Season 1, Attack on Titan Final Season) directed the anime at MAPPA, with returning names like series composer Hiroshi Seko (Attack on Titan Final Season), 3DCG director Fuminori Nomoto, and world designer Shinji Kimura (who was also background art director on Season 1). The cast includes Wataru Takagi as Caiman and Reina Kondo as Nikaido.

The anime is based on the Shogakukan-published fantasy manga by Q Hayashida. The manga was serialized from 2000 to 2018 and has been collected into 23 tankobon volumes. Viz Media publishes it in English.
