A main visual for You and I Are Polar Opposites Season 2 has been released. The promotional image assembles the cast in a grid and has them forming a giant heart shape with their hands.
You and I Are Polar Opposites is set to begin airing on July 5 at 5 PM JST, half a year after Season 1 debuted on January 11. The anime, an adaptation of the romantic comedy manga by Kocha Agasawa, follows the energetic Suzuki and the subdued Tani as they begin dating, as well as their friends and acquaintances.
Takayoshi Nagatomo (SHOSHIMIN Episode 3 and 8 storyboarder and director et al.) directs the show at Lapin Track. Sayumi Suzushiro and Shogo Sakata star as Suzuki and Tani, respectively, while the other cast members include Yuna Taniguchi as Watanabe, Konatsu Hirabayashi as Sato, Anji Iwata as Yamada, Miyuri Shimabukuro as Azuma, Wataru Kato as Taira, Cocoro Omori as Nishi, and Tomori Kusunoki as Honda.
The You and I Are Polar Opposites manga debuted on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ in May 2022 and ended in November 2024, on the same day as the anime’s announcement. Manga Plus describes the synopsis as such:
Suzuki, an energetic girl who can’t help but follow the crowd, finds herself drawn to Tani, a quiet boy who can easily speak his mind. Enter: the serialization of a hit one-shot! A story for anyone who wants to enjoy love! This down-to-earth, relatable rom-com is ready to pull at your heartstrings!
