Dengeki Daisy Manga Gets 2027 Anime from SHIBOYUGI, Days With My Stepsister Director

A TV anime adaptation of the romance manga Dengeki Daisy has been announced with a 2027 broadcast start date and a teaser visual. Sota Ueno, the idiosyncratic director of the Days With My Stepsister and SHIBOYUGI: Playing Death Games to Put Food on the Table adaptations, is helming the production at Studio DEEN.

The Shogakukan-published manga by Kyosuke Motomi follows high school student Teru, who has a phone from her late brother through which she receives messages from a mysterious person called DAISY. When she accidentally breaks a window, she ends up becoming a handyman for the school janitor Kurosaki.

Aside from Ueno, the announced staff members include Sawako Hirabayashi (TsumaSho) as series composer, Ayaka Murakami (Cute High Earth Defense Club Haikara!) as character designer, and Masaru Yokoyama (Mashle: Magic and Muscles) as music composer.

The Dengeki Daisy manga began serialization in shojo magazine Betsucomi in 2007 and released its 16th and final volume in 2014. Viz Media has the manga in English and describes the synopsis as such:

One day at school, Teru accidentally breaks a window and agrees to pay for it by helping Kurosaki with chores around school. Kurosaki is an impossible taskmaster though, and he also seems to be hiding something important from Teru…
