The Laid-Off Cheat-Granting Mage Enjoys a Second Lease on Life TV anime is set to begin airing this October. A teaser trailer and teaser visual for the P.A.WORKS production have been released, as have staff and cast details.
Shu Honma (Ya Boy Kongming!) is directing the anime with Yoko Yonaiyama (Ya Boy Kongming!) as series composer. Yuito Kiyosawa (Dealing with Mikadono Sisters Is a Breeze sub-character designer) is the character designer, while Masami Goda is the comedy character designer. Kiyosawa and Goda are also chief animation directors.
Meanwhile, the cast includes Daiki Yamashita as Rein Garland, Lynn as Lily Flambert, Yoshino Aoyama as Margaret Ells, Miyu Tomita as Mirabelle, Megumi Han as Elsie Zra, Konomi Kohara as Nina, Nobuhiko Okamoto as Half, Makoto Furukawa as Cornelius, and Rie Shibata as Mother of Assassins.
The Laid-Off Cheat-Granting Mage Enjoys a Second Lease on Life (Tsuihosareta Cheat Fuyo Majutsushi wa Kimama na Second Life o Oka suru. ~Ore wa Buki dake janaku, Arayuru mono ni “Kyoka Point” o Fuyo dekiru shi, Ore no Ishi de Itsudemo Koka o Kaijo dekiru kedo, Nokotta Hitotachi Daijobo?~) is based on the manga adaptation of Asa Rokushima‘s light novels. Protagonist Rein is a mage with enhancing magic who is suddenly cast out by his guildmates. Following his expulsion, Rein reclaims the buffs he had cast on his former guildmates’ equipment and begins his new adventurer life.
The kisui-illustrated light novels currently number at two volumes, both released in 2022. The manga, drawn by Gyomuyoumochi, has 20 volumes as of May 2026. Both are published by Kodansha, with the latter serialized on Getsumagakichi.
The Laid-Off Cheat-Granting Mage Enjoys a Second Lease on Life started as a Shosetsuka ni Naro web novel in 2021.
