A teaser visual, trailer, and a new cast member have been unveiled for the upcoming second season of Ramen Akaneko, which will begin airing in Japan in January 2027.
Season two of the series was first announced in December 2024 during the Jump Festa ‘24 event.
The new voice cast member joining the second season is Tasuku Hatanaka as Jewel, who is described on the anime’s official website as a gray long-haired cat who works at the Ramen Akaneko restaurant. Hatanaka is best known for voicing Denki Kaminari from My Hero Academia.
He joins a main voice cast that include:

- • Noriaki Sugiyama as Sasaki
- • Michiyo Murase as Sabu
- • Rie Kugimiya as Hana
- • Saori Hayami as Krishna
- • Kurumi Orihara as Tamako
Hisatoshi Shimizu (Season 1 director, The Gymnastics Samurai) returns to direct the second season, with Shigeru Murakoshi (new, Apocalypse Hotel) as series composer and scriptwriter (replacing Toru Kubo from Season 1), Michinori Chiba (returning, Mobile Suit Gundam 00 and AGE) as character designer and chief animation director, and Hirotaka Matsuoka as music composer. E&H production is handling the animation production.
The first season of Ramen Akaneko aired for 12 episodes from July 4, 2024 to September 19, 2024.
The slice of life cooking manga series by Angyaman began serialization on Shueisha’s Jump Rookie website from November 26, 2021 to February 20, 2022. It was later serialized in the Shonen Jump+ online magazine on March 14, 2022, before moving to regular serialization on October 2, 2022. Fourteen tankobon volumes have been released as of April 2026, with a 15th volume set to be published in Japan on July 3, 2026. MANGA Plus releases the manga series under the title Red Cat Ramen in English digitally.
The manga was nominated in the eighth Next Manga Awards in 2022 for the web manga category and ranked fifth out of 50 entries. The series also ranked fifteenth in the Nationwide Bookstore Employees’ Recommended Comics of 2023.
