The Even the Student Council Has Its Holes! anime has received a character trailer and visual set for the bespectacled Ume Mizunoe ahead of its newly revealed October broadcast debut.
It was also announced that Shogo Sakata, whose recent roles include You and I Are Polar Opposites‘ Yusuke Tani, is the voice actor for Ume.
Even the Student Council Has Its Holes! (Seitokai ni mo Ana wa Aru!, or There Is Also a Hole in the Student Organization!) is based on the Kodansha-published 4-koma manga by Muchimaro. Seven Seas Entertainment describes the manga as such:
In a student council filled with weirdos, one new member is about to have a hell of a school year!
Mizunoe Ume just wanted to avoid repeating a grade when he joined the student council. After all, it seemed like an easy fix to his current academic problems. But then, he met his fellow council. Each of them is eccentric in their own way—one’s an airhead, another’s scary, one’s secretly a pervert, but all in all, they’re just really weird! Yet somehow, they’re also oddly cute and endearing. Which means Mizunoe is stuck with them and all the chaos they bring to the table.

Naoyuki Tatsuwa (Even the Student Council Has Its Holes! animated PV chief director, Nisekoi) is directing the anime at Passione. Other staff include character designer Ryo Imamura (PV storyboard artist, unit director, character designer et al., Onimai character designer et al.,) and series composer and scriptwriter Masahiro Yokotani (Re: ZERO series composer and co-scriptwriter).
The manga debuted in Weekly Shonen Magazine in 2022 and has 12 volumes of March 2026. It was the winner of the Next Manga Awards 2023’s print manga category.
An animated trailer for the Even the Student Council Has Its Holes! manga was released in July 2024 and became the Shonen Magazine YouTube channel’s most popular video, with over 4.6 million views at the time of writing.
