Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc Features Maximum the Hormone Insert Song in Newest Trailer

A new trailer has been released for the Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc anime film, which features the insert song by Japanese metal band Maximum the Hormone “Hawatari Nioku Centi (Zentai Suitei 70% Kaikin edit).”

The film was released in Japanese theaters on September 19, 2025 and grossed 897 million yen (US$5.96 million) in the country, within the weekend of October 3, 2025 to October 5, 2025. The film’s total domestic gross so far after its September 19, 2025 premiere is calculated to be 4.3 billion yen (US$28.59 million).

Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc will premiere in the U.S. on October 24, 2025, and will also be released in select Asian countries between September 24, 2025 to September 26, 2025, and in parts of Europe, South America, and the Middle East on October 30, 2025. 4DX, MX4D, and Dolby Cinema screenings were rolled out in Japan, starting on October 4, 2025. 

Tatsuya Yoshihara (Chainsaw Man action director, Black Clover series director [later chief director], Wistoria: Wand and Sword) is directing the anime film, with Kazutaka Sugiyama as character designer, Hiroshi Seko as screenwriter, Aya Yamamoto as costume designer, Kensuke Ushio as music composer, and Kiyotaka Oshiyama and Riki Matsuura (Fire Force Season 2 co-main animator) as devil designers. MAPPA is in charge of the animation production.

Other staff include Yusuke Takeda as background art director, Naomi Nakano as color designer, Teppei Ito as composting director, Sota Yamazaki (co-chief animation director on Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2, character designer and animation director on Makeine: Too Many Losing Heroinessecond ED animation) and Shun (Chainsaw Man co-chief animation director) as sub-character designers, Shoichi (Chainsaw Man key animator and Ep 12 co-animation director) as main animator, Sota Shigetsugu (Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 key animator) as action animation director, Riku (EveKororon” music video director, character designer et al. The main premise of Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc is described as:

Denji became “Chainsaw Man”, a boy with a devil’s heart, and is now part of Special Division 4’s devil hunters. After a date with Makima, the woman of his dreams, Denji takes shelter from the rain. There he meets Reze, a girl who works in a café.

The 12-episode Chainsaw Man TV anime series premiered in October 2022 and ran for one cour. Crunchyroll streamed the anime worldwide.

The first part of Tatsuki Fujimoto’s manga series ran from December 3, 2018 to December 14, 2020 in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump. The manga’s second part is currently serialized on the Shonen Jump+ app and website on July 13, 2022. Twenty-two tankobon volumes have been released as of September 2025.

VIZ Media releases the Chainsaw Man manga series in English for North America, and describes the main synopsis as:

Denji’s a poor young man who’ll do anything for money, even hunting down devils with his pet devil Pochita. He’s a simple man with simple dreams, drowning under a mountain of debt. But his sad life gets turned upside down one day when he’s betrayed by someone he trusts. Now with the power of a devil inside him, Denji’s become a whole new man — Chainsaw Man!
