A main trailer, theme song, and more cast members have been unveiled for the upcoming short anime series Does It Count If You Lose Your Virginity to an Android? The show’s on-air version will premiere in Japan on January 9, 2026.
The trailer previews the short anime’s theme song “Android de Shin Jidai” by VTuber Komaru Kurikoma of Aogiri Vtuber High School.
An OVA has also been announced to be in production, which will follow the events that take place after the anime series.
Additionally, an updated and more risque version of the anime’s first visual has also been released on the show’s official website.
Does It Count If You Lose Your Virginity to an Android? will also receive an uncensored version, which will have a different cast from the on-air version. Ao Senami will voice Akane Tsuda and Yu Shiraki will voice Nadeshiko. Kurikoma will voice the guest character Ito-san in the on-air and uncensored versions.
Meanwhile, the on-air voice cast stars Ayaka Shimizu as Akane Tsuda and Marika Hayase as Nadeshiko.
Neko B is directing and serving as series composer for the short anime, with Mitsuru Tsukiumi as character designer and color designer and ZincP as music composer. Nyan Pollution-ω- is handling the animation production.
The yuri romantic comedy manga series by Yakinikuteishoku has been serialized in Ichijinsha’s Comic Yuri Hime since July 16, 2021. Six tankobon volumes have been released as of May 2025.
Does It Count If You Lose Your Virginity to an Android? is the fourth anime title of WWWave Corporation‘s Deregula label (which is inspired by the word “deregulation”), after Makina-san’s a Love Bot?!, Yandere Dark Elf, and Hitozuma no Kuchibiru.
Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the manga for English release, and describes the main premise as:
Beautiful, brainy Tsuda Akane is indispensable at the robotics manufacturer where she works, but her colleagues never saw her private side. At home, Akane’s a hot mess with an apartment that looks more like a landfill than a living space. When she drunkenly orders a maid to help her tidy up, the lady android who arrives is a horny hottie who’s about to give Akane more service than she bargained for!
