The synopsis reads:

“You betrayed me. Now it’s your turn to pay.”

After being publicly dumped by the crown prince at a national celebration and thrown  in prison, Elizabeth—once the pride of her kingdom—is left with nothing but rage and  powerful grimoires.

Betrayed by the country she gave everything to, she escapes across the border and  reinvents herself as Ellie Leis, a savvy noble with a thirst for payback. Armed with the Seven Grimoires, Elizabeth builds a network of influence, wealth, and  military might to bring her traitorous homeland to its knees.

Get ready for a high-stakes revenge fantasy where brains, magic, and elegance collide!

The series began in 2022 and has seven volumes as of August 2025. The story began as a Shosetsuka ni Naro web novel in 2020 and was one of the award recipients in the HJ Shosetsu Taisho 2021’s Shosetsuka ni Naro category.

A manga debuted at the same time as the light novel series. J-Novel Club publishes both in English.
