Seven Seas Entertainment has licensed animator Nakaya Onsen‘s Phenomenon X: Paranormal Crime Files (Gensho X: Chojo Gensho Sosaroku) manga and will release the first volume in October 2026. The title is one of multiple recently announced acquisitions.
Onsen previously revealed in August that he had accepted an offer to have the manga, which began serialization in KADOKAWA’s Harta magazine in October 2024 and released its first volume in June 2025, published in English. “In my anime work, I often handle action animation, but my manga contains no action elements at all — it’s a quiet detective story. I hope you’ll enjoy seeing a different side of me from the style you’re used to in my anime work,” he also said.

Onsen has contributed animation to anime like Jujutsu Kaisen, Fate/Grand Order Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia, Mob Psycho 100 Season 2, and The Idolmaster: Cinderella Girls. He has also taken on non-animation roles, with credits for those including:
