You Don’t Know Gunma Yet Receives New Light Anime in January 2026

A new key visual and teaser trailer have been revealed for a new “light anime” adaptation of the You Don’t Know Gunma Yet comedy manga series. The series will premiere in Japan in January 2026 on SKY PerfecTV!’s Tetsudo Channel and will be titled Omae wa Mada Gunma o Shiranai ~Reiwa-ban~. ©井田ヒロト／新潮社／「おまグン」製作委員会 Voice actors Gakuto Kajiwara and Jun Kasama will reprise their roles as characters Nori Kamitsuki and Otoya Todoroki in the new light anime adaptation. Tetsuya Tatamitani (Africa Salaryman) is directing the light anime series and serves as screenwriter, with Emi Saito and Kohei Nakayama as scriptwriters. Imagica Infos and Imageworks Studio are in charge of the animation production. The original manga series by Hiroto Ida was serialized in Shinchosha’s Kurage Bunch website from October 25, 2013 to May 31, 2019. A total of 11 tankobon volumes were published in Japan under the title Omae wa Mada Gunma o Shiranai. The manga also inspired a live-action TV drama series and live-action film adaptation in 2017. The first short anime series, released under the English title You Don’t Know Gunma Yet, ran for 12 episodes in 2018. Crunchyroll streamed the 2018 You Don’t Know Gunma Yet anime and describes the main premise as: Kamitsuki ends up having to move from Chiba Prefecture to Gunma Prefecture.
