TechnoByobu and U/M/A/A have released a series of gold leaf-pressed “TB-02” byobu folding screens in collaboration with “Ghost in the Shell,” in the style of traditional Japanese craftsmanship.
The byobu folding screen features art reflecting on “Ghost in the Shell’s” thematic balancing human and machine. The “Ghost in the Shell Konpaku” and “Ghost in the Shell Gitai” folding screens feature artwork by mangaka Shirow Masamune and film director Mamoru Oshii respectively.

The “TB-02” byobu folding screens are listed at 1,100,000JPY (approx. 7050USD), and will be available for preview and pre-order within Japan at “Ghost in the Shell: The Exhibition,” on January 30, 2026, at TOKYO NODE. The byobu come in golden brass leaf and pewter leaf varieties.
