The latest visual was released ahead of the season eight’s next episode titled “Izuku Midoriya Rising,” which will debut on November 22, 2025. The eighth season first premiered in Japan on October 4, 2025.

An English version of the visual was also posted on My Hero Academia’s official English Twitter/X account.

Meanwhile, the staff for season eight includes Kenji Nagasaki as chief director, Naomi Nakayama as director, Yosuke Kuroda as series composer, Yoshihiko Umakoshi and Hitomi Odashima as character designers, and Yuki Hayashi as music composer. Bones Film is in charge of the animation production, with Bones now handling the production supervision.
The first TV anime season premiered in 2016, with the seventh season airing in May 2024. The series has also inspired four anime films, including 2024’s My Hero Academia The Movie: You’re Next. Crunchyroll is streaming the anime series and films in select countries and territories worldwide.
The franchise also spawned several manga spinoffs, novels, video games, stage plays, artbooks, and guidebooks. An upcoming Hollywood live-action film is in development.
The anime is based on the manga series by Kohei Horikoshi, which ran in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from July 7, 2014 to August 5, 2024. Forty-two total tankobon volumes were published. A spinoff titled My Hero Academia: Vigilantes was published from 2016 to 2022 and was adapted into its own anime series, which will release its second season in January 2026.

Viz Media licensed the My Hero Academia manga series for English release, describing the main premise as:
Middle school student Izuku Midoriya wants to be a hero more than anything, but he hasn’t got an ounce of power in him. With no chance of ever getting into the prestigious U.A. High School for budding heroes, his life is looking more and more like a dead end. Then an encounter with All Might, the greatest hero of them all, gives him a chance to change his destiny.
