An artbook for the Makeine: Too Many Losing Heroines! series, subtitled Imigimuru ARTWORKS, has been announced along with a Volume 8.5 for the light novels. Both will be released in Japan on January 19, 2026.
Further details about the artbook weren’t revealed, but an illustration featuring Anna Yanami on a throne and wearing a crown (presumably the cover illustration) was previewed. Behold:

The Makeine: Too Many Losing Heroines! (Makeheroine ga Osugiru!) light novel series, written by Takibi Amamori and illustrated by Imigimuru, debuted in July 2021 under the Gagaga Bunko label. Seven Seas Entertainment describes the premise as such:
Plain, boring, and friendless Nukumizu Kazuhiko has witnessed something completely baffling: popular girl Yanami Anna was friend-zoned by her childhood friend and crush! In fact, all the popular girls around him are getting similarly rejected by the boys they like. Without realizing it, Kazuhiko becomes entangled in the relationship drama where all the leading heroines are losing out on love! Can he keep their spirits up and help them find happiness?
Makeine has inspired a manga by Itachi and a TV anime, the latter premiering in Japan in July 2024. A second season was announced in April of this year.
The light novel series was the Gagaga Award winner at the 15th Shougakukan Light Novel Taisho. It also ranked first in a number of This Light Novel Is Amazing! 2025 categories, including the general category. Fittingly, Anna didn’t place first in the female character category (losing to The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten‘s Mahiru Shiina), although she came close was getting second place.
