MF Ghost 3rd Season Releases Trailer and Visual, Reveals January 4 Premiere

A January 4, 2026 premiere date, trailer, and visual for MF Ghost 3rd Season have been released.

It was also announced that the opening theme song is Yu Serizawa feat. MOTSU‘s “TIMELESS POWER,” while the ending song is the Himika Akaneya‘s “Yokan no Tochu,” produced by m-flo’s Taku Takahashi.

MF Ghost is based on the Kodansha-published manga by Initial D‘s Shuichi Shigeno, which takes place in the 2020s of Initial D‘s world. The story follows Kanata Rivington, a graduate of a British racing school, who returns to Japan to participate in the popular MFG race and find his father.

The previous seasons aired in 2023 and 2024.

The manga began serialization in the seinen publication Weekly Young Magazine in 2017 and released its 23rd and final volume in June 2025.

Kodansha USA’s description of the MF Ghost manga reads as such:

The author of Initial D has roared back onto the track with another hit! In a near future where cars have mostly switched over to sustainable power, combustion engine racing is a rarity. The MFG is the last major race for this dying breed, and half-Japanese Kanata Rivington has come back to try his luck. But that’s not all he’s come to Japan to do…he’s searching for his father, too. Can even the ambitious Kanata accomplish all he’s set out to do?
