NTE drops you in Hethereau, a neon urban sprawl where anomaly hunts, driving, and daily-life systems collide with an ARPG combat loop. You’re an Appraiser working gigs for Eibon, juggling commissions, cars, and things that definitely shouldn’t float. Pre-registration is open; the recent Containment Test (CBT) gave us hands-on reads that power this guide.

Set the crowd, snap a reaction, spend your burst — then do it prettier.

Movement & Traversal

  • Scout by road, fight on foot: drive to the ring, park outside, engage with full ability control.
  • Vertical beats chaos: hop fences, stairs, cars — use height to reset aggro and line up reactions.
  • Micro-routes: practice 3-piece chains (basic → skill → dodge-cancel → skill) between pockets of enemies.

Combat Reactions & Cancel Windows

Kits run on a quick-select/ability wheel. Your DPS spikes when you sequence skills and trigger element reactions (freeze/shock/burn/control variants). Keep one control element and one burst element in every trio to guarantee setups.

  • Cheat-code rhythm: Set → Snap → Spend (control → proc → burst).
  • i-frames = style: perfect dodge into skill to keep tempo; don’t let combos drop.
  • Aerial windows: launchers → air strings → ground slam; great for crowd thinning.

Team Building (CBT meta, subject to change)

  • Roles over rarities: Engager (gap/CC) + Control/Sustain + Finisher (burst).
  • Range mix: combine one melee + one ranged so bullet-hell spawns don’t pin you.
  • Utility slot: at least one character with traversal/mobility perks for the open city.
  • Rotation > stats: better sequencing outperforms small gear bumps early.

Vehicles, Wanted Level & Street Smarts

  • Car = reposition tool: ramming raises Wanted; ditch and break line-of-sight in alleys/roofs.
  • Park smart: leave the ride outside event radii to avoid clipping into spawns.
  • Heat hygiene: when stars rise, go vertical, reset, re-enter from above.

City Life That Actually Scales You

Eibon commissions unlock systems; housing, businesses, and mods feed cashflow, routes, and utility. Treat “daily life” as progression, not fluff — do one city task per session.

PC Settings (CBT-style)

  • Clarity first: disable heavy blur/grain; bump FOV a notch for situational awareness.
  • Frame target: use DLSS/FSR to hold a stable cap on mid GPUs; map dodge to a comfy bumper.

NTE — FAQ

Is NTE out?

Global launch TBA. Pre-registration is open; recent CBT ran in July.

Platforms?

PC and PS5 are confirmed; mobile versions (iOS/Android) have been shown by the publisher.

Best beginner team shape?

Engager + Control/Sustain + Finisher, with at least two elements to trigger reactions consistently.

How do I manage Wanted?

Don’t ram through patrols. If heat rises, ditch the car, go vertical, re-enter from rooftops.

Any quick combat drill?

Maintain a 30-second string: basic → skill → dodge-cancel → skill, landing one reaction per pack.
