The Scum of the Brave TV anime has received a trailer and main visual, along with the reveal of a January 10 (effectively January 11 at 12:55 AM JST) premiere date and consecutive two-cour length.
It was also announced that TOOBOE‘s “GUN POWDER” is the opening theme song, while Mulasaki Ima‘s “Mental Rental” is the ending theme song.
Scum of the Brave is based on the light novel by Rocket Syokai, which was released under the KADOKAWA Books label in December 2016. The story is set in a world where yakuza can become demon kings and the business of killing them as been legalized in the form of heroes. No-good hero Yashiro becomes a tutor to some high school girls who are aspiring to become heroes.
The light novel was originally illustrated by Yuya Kusaka. A new version with revisions and illustrations from toi8 was announced with the anime this year. There is a manga adaptation by Nakashima 723.
Scum of the Brave was originally a Kakuyomu web novel.
