The Steins;Gate Re:Boot visual novel has had its release date pushed from 2025 to 2026. The official reason is to provide customers with a more satisfactory product.
In the meantime, there’s a preview drop that includes a look at the character designs (done by returning Steins;Gate character designer huke), along with some backgrounds (the press release says that the game’s depiction of 2010 Akihabara is based on material from that time) and event stills. There are also a few regular gameplay screenshots with the text box, with the press release noting the final look may change.

It was also announced that new information about the visual novel will be revealed at this month’s WePlay Expo 2025, which will be held in Shanghai from November 22 to November 23. It’s currently unknown what platforms Steins;Gate Re:Boot will launch on, or what languages the initial release will support.
The MAGES.-developed Steins;Gate Re:Boot is an updated version the well-known sci-fi visual novel Steins;Gate, with higher-definition visuals, optimizations, and new scenes and locations. The original version was first released on Xbox 360 in October 2009 and was developed by 5pb., which merged with AG-ONE to become MAGES in 2011.
Steins;Gate inspired a TV anime, with the Steins;Gate Elite remaster using the show’s footage as well as new animation sequences, and an anime movies. There is also a midquel titled Steins;Gate 0 (which has its own anime) and a number of spin-offs. Anime-wise, there is an anime movie and Steins;Gate 0 adaptation in addition to the first TV anime.
