The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin Reveals New Release Dates, Earlier Launch for PS5 and Steam

Free-to-play open-world RPG The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin will drop on PlayStation 5 and Steam on March 16, before arriving on iOS, Android, and Google Play Games on March 23.

The game was previously scheduled for a January 28 launch, but received a delay to March in that month. The developer note announcing the date change made note of the development team’s findings from the closed beta test that ran from October 30 to November 6.

“While some areas could be addressed relatively quickly, we concluded that many others would require more than simple numerical adjustments. They called for a broader reexamination of the game’s overall structure and improvements at the system level,” the note said. “As a result, our development team spent a great deal of time considering the balance between ‘releasing the game according to the originally planned schedule’ and ‘delivering a more complete experience through meaningful improvements.’”

“In the end, we determined that fundamentally addressing the issues we had identified was the most important priority. In order to meet the expectations of our Star Guardians, we have made the decision to adjust the official launch schedule to March.”

The new release date announcement cautions that the “announced schedule is subject to change due to internal circumstances. Any updates will be shared through this notice.”

The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin was announced back in 2022. The Steam page says that players will “Take on the role of Prince Tristan of the Kingdom of Liones and embark on a journey to restore order to Britannia, now thrown into disarray by a mysterious collision of time and space.” An old release date trailer from September mentioned the existence of dungeons that can be experienced with up to four other players among its features.

The game is developed by Netmarble, a subsidiary Netmarble F&C, with Netmarble publishing.
