The You Can’t Be In a Rom-Com with Your Childhood Friends! TV anime has received a second main trailer, which includes a preview of the newly announced opening song “I Love You♡” by HoneyWorks meets Shio Minamo, Akari Hiodoshi, Runa Tsukimi, Haru Hinata. The show’s January 5 (effectively January 6 at 12 AM JST) premiere date was also revealed.
While there’s no new key visual, there’s a Christmas illustration from the manga’s creator Shinya Misu.
Misu’s You Can’t Be In a Rom-Com with Your Childhood Friends! (Osananajimi to wa Rabukome ni Naranai) is a childhood friend-themed romantic comedy, where the initial premise sees teenage protagonist Eyu grappling with his attraction towards two of his childhood friends. The manga began serialization on Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket in 2022 and has 18 volumes as of November 2025.
Crunchyroll premiered the anime at New York Comic Con on October 12 and will stream it outside of Asia.
