The official Twitter/X account and website for the Magilumiere Magical Girls Inc. TV anime series announced last weekend that Yumiri Hanamori will not reprise her role as Hitomi Koshigaya for the second season. Season two was first announced in December 2024 and will premiere in Japan in July 2026.
The website and social media post did not disclose the reason for Hanamori stepping down from the role, but the decision was made after discussions with her talent agency tomorrow jam, who requested the change. A new voice actress for Hitomi Koshigaya was not announced, as of the time of writing.
Toshinori Fukushima (Dad Is a Hero, Mom Is a Spirit, I`m a Reincarnator) will be directing the anime’s second season, replacing season one director Masahiro Hiraoka. Michiko Yokote (Ruri Rocks) serves as scriptwriter, taking over from Shingo Nagai, who wrote the scripts for the first season. Masahiro Fujii (returning) is the chief animation director and Makoto Miyazaki (returning) is the music composer. J.C.STAFF is the sole animation production company for the second season. MOE was previously credited with the first season’s animation production with J.C.STAFF.

The first season of Magilumiere Magical Girls Inc. premiered in Japan on October 4, 2024 and ran for 12 episodes until December 20, 2024. Amazon Prime Video streamed the anime series worldwide.
The workplace magical girl manga is written by Sekka Iwata and illustrated by Yu Aoki. It was serialized on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ platform from October 20, 2021 to July 9, 2025, with 18 total tankobon volumes being released in Japan. The manga is also published in English digitally on the MANGA Plus platform.
VIZ Media licensed the Magilumiere Magical Girls Inc. manga series for English release, describing the main synopsis as:
