Ami Maeshima Joins Voice Cast of Rich Girl Caretaker TV Anime Series

The official Twitter/X account and website of the upcoming Rich Girl Caretaker TV anime series announced the casting of voice actress Ami Maeshima. The anime will premiere in Japan on July 4, 2026

Maeshima will voice the character Karen Asahi and will also perform the anime’s main ending theme song “Kanpeki Janai Watashi.” She was most notably known for voicing Aya Maruyama from the BanG! Dream franchise.

She joins a previously announced voice cast that will star:

  • • Yuto Uemura as Itsuki Tomonari
  • • Konomi Kohara as Hinako Konohana
  • • Saori Onishi as Mirei Tennoji
  • • Rio Tsuchiya as Narika Miyakojima

Shusei Morishita (Gakuen Babysitters) is directing the anime series, with Aya Yoshinaga (Welcome to Japan, Ms. Elf!) as series composer, and Takashi Kawashima (Noble Reincarnation ~Born Blessed, So I’ll Obtain Ultimate Power~) as character designer. Brain’s Base is in charge of the animation production.

Crunchyroll announced earlier this April that it licensed the anime adaptation for streaming in select countries and territories under the English title Rich Girl Caretaker: I’m Secretly the Caregiver of the Most Popular Girl in This Rich Kid School.

The romantic comedy light novel series is written by Yusaku Sakaishi and illustrated by Sakura Miwabe. It was first published under Hobby Japan’s HJ Bunko imprint on May 1, 2021 and has released 11 volumes in Japan as of October 2025.

The light novels originated as a web novel on Shosetsuka ni Naro that was published from 2020 to 2021. A manga adaptation by Sorahiko Mizushima was also launched in July 2021.

Spain-based publisher Monogatari Novels licensed the light novels for English publication. It initially announced pre-orders for the first volume in October 2023, but it is currently unclear when the books will be released. Amazon listed the first three English-translated volumes with a March 3, 2026 release date and a “currently unavailable” status, while the Monogatari Novels website is currently inaccessible. The publisher hasn’t posted on its Twitter/X account since a tariff-related post in May 2025.

Monogatari Novels describes the first volume of the Rich Girl Caretaker light novels as:

A high school boy, Itsuki Tomonari, gets involved in a kidnapping and ends up taking care of Hinako Konohana, a young lady from one of Japan’s largest conglomerates.

On the surface, Hinako seems to be a brilliant and charming girl, but in reality, she is a lazy girl with no life skills. However, due to family reasons, Hinako has to play the role of the “perfect young lady” at school. Wanting to protect her, Itsuki takes care of her in a very caring manner. Eventually, Hinako begins to fawn on Itsuki with all her might… “Now…if Itsuki isn’t around, I would hate it.”

This is a love story that begins with a cute young lady with a gap that transcends the master-servant relationship.
