A teaser trailer and main visual for the My Stepmother and Stepsisters Aren’t Wicked TV anime have been released. The former offers a peek at protagonist Miya Nakamura’s life with her new, non-evil stepfamily and their dog, Gungnir.
It was also announced that Gungnir’s voice actor is Anna Mugiho.
My Stepmother and Stepsisters Aren’t Wicked (Ibittekonai Gibo to Gishi, or My Mother-in-Law and Sister-in-Law Who Don’t Bully Me) will begin airing in July. The anime is based on the Ichijinsha-published manga by Otsuji, with Seven Seas Entertainment describing the source material’s synopsis as such:
Miya is the illegitimate child of a certain prominent family. When her mother dies, she’s convinced she knows what awaits her in her new home: a life of servitude and misery at the hands of her wicked stepmother and stepsisters! Yet when she finally meets the women she expects to treat her like dirt, they actually end up being…sweet?!
A hilarious and heartfelt comedy that’s sure to put a smile on your face!
The manga began serialization on comicPOOL in 2020 and has nine volumes as of February 2026.
