The CoMix Wave Films-produced anime short film Shiranui has gotten a main poster as it nears its August 21 release date. A main trailer was released in April.
The 1996-set anime sees 10-year-old Minato offering a prayer to the titular Shiranui, a light that can fulfill only one wish. However, Minato’s wish slowly turns into a curse.
Ryo Katanosaka (Tabinoyamabiko director) created, directed, and wrote the short film. Taro Umebayashi is the music composer, while Ichiko Aoba is the theme song artist.
Music artist Ano stars as Minato, while Kana Hanazawa plays Ben-chan, a goddess who is Minato’s sole friend. Shinichiro Miki is Minato’s drunkard father Masaru.
