Studio Khara, Slow Curve to Produce Animated Sequence for Baahubali: The Eternal War Feature Film

Japanese production company SlowCurve and Studio khara will be producing a dedicated animated sequence for the upcoming feature film Baahubali: The Eternal War Part 1. The first entry of the two-part animated films will be released sometime in 2027. 

The Japanese animation segment will be directed by Akira Honma (Yurei Deco character designer), with Noriko Ito (Undead Murder Farce) as character designer. Mahiro Maeda (Evangelion: 3.0+1.0: Thrice Upon A Time) also joined the project as a “key creative contributor.”

SlowCurve will oversee the planning and production of Studio khara’s contribution to the animated film. Aside from Japan, the animated film will feature contributions from studios and talents from India, France, and the U.K.  

Ishan Shukla (Star Wars: Visions Volume 2 “The Bandits of Golak” episode director) is directing Baahubali: The Eternal War, with a screenplay written by Scott Mosier

The two-part Baahubali: The Eternal War animated films are part of RRR director SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali Indian Telugu-language film franchise, which has spawned three live-action films that were released between 2015 and 2025. 

The Baahubali franchise has also inspired two TV animated series: The Lost Legends in April 2017 and Crown of Blood in May 2024. The Lost Legends is currently available to stream on Prime Video
