A main trailer for The Villager of Level 999 TV anime has been released. Also revealed were its July 1, 24:00 JST (effectively July 2 at 00:00 JST) broadcast start date, a main visual, and theme song details.
The opening song is “Not a Hero” by Nakuru Aitsuki and Itsuki Natsume, while the ending song is “HP” by Yukimura. Both are used in the trailer.
The Villager of Level 999 (LV999 no Murabito) is based on the light novel series by Koneko Hoshitsuki. Set in a world where one’s role is assigned to them, the story’s protagonist is a villager called Koji who reached level 999 and doesn’t see value in anything other than making money, until he meets the demon Alice.
The light novel series began in 2016 and released its eighth and final volume in 2019. KADOKAWA published the books, which were illustrated by Fumi.
The Villager of Level 999 was previously a web novel that debuted on Shosetsuka ni Naro in 2015. There is a manga drawn by Kenichi Iwamoto, with MangaPlaza’s synopsis for it reading:
Monsters did not always exist in the island country of Hexaldoria, once known as Japan.
But, once monsters appeared, their numbers grew in an instant. Eighty percent of the world is now too dangerous for people to live in. With the monsters’ arrival, the world bestowed “Classes” upon its people.
Classes are assigned at birth, and most people live according to them. There are eight COMPETENT classes: FIGHTER, HUNTER, CLERIC, WARRIOR, MAGE, MERCHANT, THEIF. And three special ORACLE classes: KING, SAGE, HERO.
The weakest Class of all is VILLAGER.
However, Kouji Kagami became “LEVEL 999”–the highest level that no one had reached before.
When he met the daughter of the Demon King, the world started to change!
