The official Twitter/X account and website of the upcoming The Insipid Prince’s Furtive Grab for The Throne TV anime series has announced the addition of two new cast members. The series is scheduled to premiere in Japan in July 2026.
The two new cast members joining the series include Yuki Kuwahara, best known as the voice of Tohru from Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid, as Christa Lakes Aadler (left) and Masahiko Tanaka, who voices Kyoichi Sudo from Initial D, as Sebastian (right).
Meanwhile, the anime’s previously announced voice cast include:

- • Manaka Iwami as Finne Von Kleinert
- • Maaya Uchida as Elna Von Kleinert

- • Mitsuki Saiga as Zandra
- • Kazuhiko Inoue as Johannes
Yuji Yanase (The World’s Strongest Rearguard: Labyrinth Country’s Novice Seeker) is directing the anime series, with Kazuko Tadano (Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Cosmos) and Kazuyuki Fudeyasu (Trigun Stargaze) as series composer. MAHO FILM is handling the animation production.
The light novel series is written by Tanba and illustrated by Yunagi. It was first published under Kadokawa’s Sneaker Bunko imprint on September 1, 2019 and has released 16 main volumes as of April 2026. A 17th volume will be released in Japan on July 1, 2026.
The story began as a Shosetsuka ni Naro web novel in February 2019. A manga adaptation by Yukino Amagai was launched in December 2019. Its Japanese title is Saikyo Degarashi Oji no Anyaku Teii Arasoi.
Kadokawa’s Bookwalker Global publishes both the light novels and manga digitally in English. The main synopsis of the former is described as:
Arnold is a lethargic prince who is ridiculed by the entire empire as an “insipid” runner. But in fact, he is the most powerful prince with a secret identity as Silver, an SS-grade adventurer who manipulates forbidden ancient magic! The story of the strongest prince who plays the role of an incompetent, and his secret struggle for the throne begins!
